I’ve now got a third song completed (or completed enough, at least!).  Dreamscape started life as sketch7 a couple of weeks ago before I added lyrics and a title a couple of days ago.  I recorded the vocals fairly quickly today and also added some little embellishments here and there.  I have to say that I think this one has come out pretty well and even though there are a couple of things I’m not entirely sure about, they don’t sound bad.  It’s just that they might be better if I could work out what it is that’s not right.

I’m heading down a road – don’t know where it’s leading

Still I find I’m in a hurry to arrive

I can’t find any meaning in the signs I’m reading

But I’m feeling a real urgency that drives me on

With a sense of frantic fear I feel an evil presence here

And it strengthens my conviction as I run

All I hear is my heart beating, I see the scenery repeating

I know the predator pursuing will not be outdone

And now a door that was unseen

A portal leading form this dream

 

I’m falling - there’s nothing to hold on to

The ground’s so far below but fast approaching

It’s chilling - I’ve lost control it’s true

The rushing wind around me still encroaching

And then I fall into the light

But I’ll be back another night

 

I’m flying - high above the world

I look down at the fields so far below

Defying gravity this time

I feel great liberation and let go

There is nothing in my way

Until I waken to the day

 

I walk through a strange land, confused by all around me

The places that I go don’t seem quite right somehow

A world bent out of shape – the things I see confound me

Things keep happening that science would not allow

A warped and twisted place, this world that I face

I can’t help feeling that all’s not as it seems

As I stand and stare I become aware

That this world only exists in my dreams
